  • Not all domestic violence is physical.  Domestic violence includes financial abuse, emotional and psychological abuse, and sexual abuse.  Physical abuse is the most visual which is why we selected a black eye sticker to symbolize the violence that comes from all forms of Domestic Violence. Wearing the black eye sticker is optional.

What happens on October 30th ?

  • On October 30, iCare Awareness Day, businesses and supporters throughout the entire community will be wearing the “Ask my why iCare” purple stickers and symbolic black eye, to bring much needed awareness to the epidemic of domestic violence in our community. This sticker combined with a shirt sticker reading “Ask me why iCare” will bring much needed awareness to the epidemic of domestic violence in our community. To end this problem we must address it and bring it out from behind closed doors. iCare committee members will be coming around to some participating businesses taking pictures to be featured on Hope House social media as well as media visits to certain businesses during the day.  We encourage all businesses and individuals to e-mail pictures throughout the day and email to aaubuchon@hopehouse.net
